Scott Woodworth

Scott Woodworth, an award-winning designer, is a senior member of AHC’s web design and graphic design team—a position he has held for over ten years. Interacting with the creative staff of AHC and Art Director Jack Zoog, Scott creates many of the highly acclaimed and award-winning designs for AHC’s communications materials, including web sites, newsletters, corporate identification and logos, line cards, brochures, and business packages.

Scott has been working in the design field for 14 years, and is among the first generation of Macintosh graphics program users. His first desktop publishing workstation was a Mac SE with a 20 MB hard drive and 4 MB of RAM. Scott began his career in graphic design as an advertising salesman, where he learned about the effectiveness of the graphical image first and from his customers who placed advertising and depended on it for their revenue.

Scott Woodworth soon found that he preferred pasting up the graphics for the ads that he was selling to the actual sales. After a move to Malibu, California, he took up typesetting for the Malibu Times newspaper, where he was trained to typeset on a large, pre-desktop machine that he describes as being “as big as an AMC Pacer.”

After a move to Northern California, Scott set up his Macintosh workstation, one of the first in the region. He has been affiliated with AHC since 1988.

Scott Woodworth is a musician who has played guitar since the 7th Grade, and has played lead for various bands including the DC-Tenz, The Ducks, and Ersatz. His manual dexterity as a guitarist and his love of music have played an important part in his education and choice of career.

His interest in music carried through to his education. Scott has a BA in Semiotics from Brown, where his thesis was based on the question, “Does one musical note by itself communicate, or, like language, do notes have to interact with other notes in order to convey meaning?”

An avid golfer, Scott also designs and markets distinctive and unique golf clothing for men. His line of golf clothes can be found at www.loudmouthgolf.com.
